Assorted Masala Fruits
We confess. Making you pick only one of the fruits in aftermeals is downright cruel. So, we present to you an assorted mix of dried masala fruits, with orange, mango, kiwi, pomelo, guava & plum. We hope you forgive us.
Can you guess, which country is the highest producer of Guavas in the world? I-N-D-I-A. And we truly apologise to include it so late in our spread. Though the origin of Guavas is uncertain, a quick search online points at southern Mexico – hundreds of miles away from India. How did they reach here? Munch a few chunks and you might get the answer.
We feel that English is a funny language and we love it for all its amusing streaks. But when the whole world called a fruit ananas, or something similar, we do not understand the reason why the English chose to call it Pineapple. But as a great writer once said, “An Ananas with any other name, still tastes as sweet”
We actually had to surrender to the internet to find out what this fruit was called in English. While we were at it, our Mothers were busy making an aftermeal out of it. Surprisingly, this fruit turned out to be an excellent aftermeal. Thanks, moms!
